SOME PEOPLE ARE NOT MADE FOR FAME; THEY ARE MADE FOR PURPOSE – Singer Ayisi – Nsemkeka
Ghanaian artist Ayisi, whose real name is Emmanuel Kwadwo Oware, has explained why it took a considerable time for him to gain significant recognition in the music industry after ten years.
He mentioned that he consistently put forth effort to create songs but understood that not everyone is destined for fame — some are meant for a greater purpose.
He stated that despite not receiving recognition, he persisted in composing songs with the hope that his situation would soon improve.
In a recent interview after his victory at the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards, the musician discussed receiving the Record of the Year award.
“I took a break because I wasn’t going for interviews and was handling some personal stuff too. But I was always going back to the studio to record and getting ready for the right moment when everything had settled because I’m not the type of person that will wait for everything to cool down before I’ll take actions. I was still recording and going to the studio, doing what I should be doing and when the right moment came I’m out here again.” he told Roselyn Felli on Joy Prime’s ‘Changes.’
Responding to a question about whether he felt pressured, given how other artists such as KiDi and Kuami Eugene rose to fame even though he broke out before them, Ayisi said “now I’ve realized that some people are not made for the fame and all of the other stuff; some people are made for purpose.”
Consequently, it is essential for individuals to discover their true calling, connect with their purpose, and persistently strive to excel.
