Seven Ghanaian Pilgrims Die During 2025 Hajj – Hajj Board Confirms – GhArticles.com

Seven Ghanaian pilgrims participating in the 2025 Hajj in Saudi Arabia have been confirmed dead, according to the Ghana Hajj Board.

The deceased include five women and two men. While their identities have not yet been disclosed publicly, families of the deceased have been officially informed, Hajj Board Chairman Alhaji Collins Dauda revealed in an interview with TV3 on June 7.

“Unfortunately, for the 2025 pilgrimage, we have lost seven of our compatriots,” Alhaji Dauda stated. “Deaths are painful, but death will come when it has to come. We express our deepest condolences to the affected families back in Ghana.”

He assured the public that a delegation would visit the families to offer support and condolences at an appropriate time.

Despite the tragic losses, the Hajj Board noted a significant decline in deaths compared to the 2024 pilgrimage, which recorded 17 fatalities. All seven pilgrims have been buried in Saudi Arabia in accordance with Islamic tradition.
