Notorious Carjacking Ringleader Solomon Siaw Tetteh Arrested in Krobo Enclave – GhArticles.com
Police have arrested Solomon Siaw Tetteh, the suspected mastermind behind a notorious carjacking syndicate that has been terrorizing residents across the Krobo enclave in the Eastern Region.
Tetteh, who had been on the police wanted list for several car theft incidents, was apprehended on Sunday, May 18, at a hideout in Nuaso, Lower Manya Krobo Municipality. His arrest followed intelligence-led operations after he narrowly evaded capture during an earlier ambush at his residence last week. During that operation, three of his accomplices were arrested.
According to police, the gang is responsible for stealing vehicles from Nkurakan, Asesewa, Somanya, and Ada Magazine. Shockingly, the stolen vehicles were dismantled and converted into coal pots for sale.
Tetteh’s arrest sparked tension in the community. While transporting him to the Koforidua Divisional Police Headquarters, officers were forced to change their route due to a roadblock allegedly set up by angry youth in Nkurakan who sought to lynch him.
At the police station, the suspect was presented alongside stolen vehicles and tricycles. Despite being confronted by some victims, he denied all charges.
Police say investigations are ongoing and more arrests are expected. Tetteh will be arraigned before court upon completion of the investigation.
