MEET ADWOA TEE, THE GHANAIAN INFLUENCER WHO SAYS SHE ONLY DATES FRAUDSTERS – Nsemkeka

Ghanaian influencer Adwoa Tee has stirred up a whirlwind of controversy after boldly admitting that she prefers dating fraudsters over men with conventional professions like lawyers or 9-to-5 workers.

Her eyebrow-raising confession came during Season 3 of the Rants, Bants & Confessions podcast, where she appeared alongside fellow socialite Efia Odo and other female guests. The episode, now trending online, featured an unfiltered conversation about dating standards, attention in relationships, and the lifestyle choices women are unapologetically making.

According to Adwoa Tee, one of the most important things in a relationship is time and attention—something she claims men in white-collar jobs often lack.

“Before I started this influencing thing, I was doing 9-to-5,” she said. “Sometimes the way the guys even act in the office… They’ll leave the office like 9:00 p.m., 10:00 p.m., and by the time he gets home, he’s tired.”

She went on to justify her preference with the now-viral quote:

“So me like this, I wouldn’t even mind dating a scammer—because he’s always home.”

She explained that scammers, while often engaged in online schemes, at least stay physically present and are more likely to lavish their partners with time and money.

“He’s just on his phone, he’s talking to me, or he’s on his laptop. We have time,” she said.

Co-panelist Efia Odo challenged the notion, warning about the dangers of dating someone conditioned to lie:

“If you can date a scammer—they’re liars, they’re conditioned to always lie—so that means you wouldn’t know when he’s being real with you.”

But Adwoa Tee held her ground, even comparing her past dating experience with a lawyer who, according to her, was “stingy.”

“I’ve dated a lawyer before who was in tech. He doesn’t give. It wasn’t because of the profession—maybe he was naturally stingy. But he was still a lawyer.”

The discussion sparked backlash and support alike on social media, with users debating the ethics and reality of dating for financial gain and emotional presence. Despite the criticism, Adwoa Tee maintained that she’s simply being honest about her preferences.

“Life doesn’t come without you taking risks… If you’re looking for the money, take the risk.”

She also claimed that a caring scammer would never involve a partner in illegal dealings, noting:

“At a point he’ll make you do something maybe you have to use your voice. They like accents… But if the person cares about you, he would never involve you.”
