‘MARK OKRAKU-MANTEY SAW HIMSELF AS A LORD, NOT A SERVANT’ – KOD Criticizes Former Deputy Minister – Nsemkeka
Kofi Okyere Darko, popularly known as KOD and currently Presidential Advisor on Diasporan Affairs, has publicly criticized former Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Mark Okraku-Mantey, accusing him of arrogance and superiority while in office.
Speaking in an interview on Rainbow Radio 92.4 FM in the United Kingdom, KOD emphasized that public office is a call to serve the people, not a platform to feel superior.
“We are here to serve. My office is a place where I’ve been given the opportunity to serve, not to feel more important than others. Mark Okraku-Mantey was also appointed to serve, but he behaved like a lord,” KOD stated.
KOD further stressed that those appointed to government roles should maintain humility and never regard themselves as better than the people they serve or those who helped them attain their positions.
He contrasted his approach by saying, “I don’t see myself as more important than my peers in the creative space. The privileges I have are meant to help me serve the people better.”
Concluding, KOD linked Okraku-Mantey’s recent public remarks to the entitlement he exhibited during his tenure and vowed to continue serving with humility.
“The reason Mark Okraku-Mantey is talking the way he is now is because when he was appointed, he thought he was a lord. But by God’s grace, some of us are here now, and we will serve with humility,” he said.
