‘Let us reaffirm our commitment to building a continent of prosperity’- Mahama to African leaders – Nsemkeka
President John Mahama has called on African leaders, civil society organisations, youth groups, and the diaspora to come together in a unified effort to build a continent marked by prosperity, justice, and equality.
“Let us reaffirm our commitment to building a continent of prosperity,” Mahama declared in his Africa Day 2025 message shared Facebook.
“This is not a simple task,” he stressed. “It requires courage, determination, and a unified front. It requires us to engage in meaningful dialogue with those responsible and to advocate tirelessly for our rights.”
Mahama emphasised that genuine progress demands collaboration across all sectors of society.
“I call upon my colleagues — African leaders, civil society organisations, youth groups and members of the diaspora — to join hands in this important endeavour,” he said.
He painted a hopeful vision for the future, one in which justice prevails, wounds of the past are healed, and the full potential of every African and person of African descent is realised.
“Let us work together to build a future where justice prevails, where the wounds of the past are healed, and where the potential of every African and person of African descent is fully realised,” Mahama stated.
Mahama also urged that Africa Day 2025 be seen as a pivotal moment — a turning point for the continent.
“Let Africa Day 2025 be a turning point,” he urged.
He added “Let us reaffirm our commitment to building a continent of prosperity, opportunity and equality for all our people.”
He concluded with a rallying call, highlighting that the pursuit of reparations is not just about redress, but a powerful symbol of Africa’s resilience, determination, and hope.
“Let the pursuit of reparations be a testament to our resilience, our determination and our unwavering belief in a brighter future,” he said.
