Ken Ofori-Atta is not avoiding OSP – Alhassan Tampuli – Nsemkeka
Member of Parliament for Gushegu, Alhassan Tampuli Sulemana, has argued that the former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta is not evading the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).
He said this on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show on Thursday, 5th June 2025. Mr Tampuli advocated for the OSP to consider virtual means of interrogation, given Mr Ofori-Atta’s current circumstances.
Mr Ofori-Atta, who served as Finance Minister from 2017 to 2024, is under investigation by the OSP for alleged involvement in multiple financial transactions, including the Strategic Mobilisation Limited-GRA contract, termination of the ECG-BXC contract, payments related to the National Cathedral, procurement of ambulances, and utilisation of the Tax Refund Account.
Mr Ofori-Atta’s legal team has cited medical complications as the reason for his continued absence and has requested a virtual session to facilitate his co-operation with the OSP. However, the OSP has insisted on his physical presence, stating that no medical report has been submitted to justify his absence.
The former minister is currently on the OSP’s wanted list.
