JUNIOR POPE’S FATHER PASSES AWAY ONE YEAR AFTER ACTOR’S TRAGIC DEATH – Nsemkeka
Ozor Luke Odonwodo, father of the late Nollywood actor Junior Pope, has sadly passed away—marking yet another devastating loss for the Odonwodo family just one year after Junior Pope’s tragic death.
The news was confirmed by the actor’s widow, Jennifer Awele, who took to Instagram on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, to share an emotional tribute to her late father-in-law.
In her post, Jennifer described Ozor Luke as “a man who genuinely loved his family and made countless sacrifices for those he held dear.” She honoured him as an octogenarian who had lived a full life, reaping the fruits of his labour before his passing.
“It was a short time with you, Daddy, but it was a sweet one. You loved me, and I loved you,” she wrote.
Jennifer, still reeling from the loss of her husband, expressed gratitude for the bond she shared with her father-in-law, ending her tribute with biblical verses and a reaffirmation of her faith in the promise of resurrection.
The Odonwodo family is still recovering from the untimely death of Junior Pope, who died by drowning on April 10, 2024, after a boat accident in the Anam River while returning from a film shoot. He was 43 years old.
The actor, known for his charisma and versatility in Nollywood, left behind his wife, Jennifer, and their three sons.
