Jubilee House Bans DStv Subscription to Cut Costs – Kwakye Ofosu – GhArticles.com

Government Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu has revealed that no office at the Jubilee House, the seat of Ghana’s presidency is permitted to subscribe to DStv or any satellite television service. The move is part of a cost-saving policy under the Mahama administration.

Speaking on JoyNews on Tuesday, June 10, Kwakye Ofosu said the restriction reflects President Mahama’s commitment to modest governance and responsible spending.

“I can reveal to you that if you come to this house, there’s no office in this house that is allowed to subscribe to DStv or any satellite television,” he stated.

Though some may see the policy as minor, Kwakye Ofosu stressed its financial significance, noting the high cumulative cost of such subscriptions.

“The televisions you see here only show local channels,” he said, adding that the policy will be extended to other government institutions to help curb public spending.

Kwakye Ofosu commended President Mahama for leading by example, saying, “This is a man deeply committed to making savings for the Ghanaian people. Governance involves taking tough decisions, and the citizenry must see modesty from their leaders.”
