JoyNews reporter attacked by NPP members during Wontumi’s EOCO detention coverage – Nsemkeka

JoyNews’ Latif Iddrisu was assaulted by a New Patriotic Party (NPP) sympathizer today while covering the detention of NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Wontumi, at the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) headquarters.

Part of a growing crowd of NPP supporters gathered outside EOCO, verbally harassed Iddrisu before physically assaulting him.

The journalist was covering Chairman Wontumi’s arrest when the altercation occurred.

The attacker allegedly accused Iddrisu of biased reporting before slapping him and hurling materials at him.
