GFA to announce new broadcaster for GPL soon – Kurt Okraku – Nsemkeka
The President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, has confirmed that a new television partner for the Ghana Premier League will be announced soon.
This follows the GFA’s decision to end its deal with Chinese broadcaster StarTimes with a $950,000 owed to the country’s football governing body.
The contract with StarTimes officially ended after the 2023/24 football season, leaving both the Ghana Premier League and the FA Cup without an official broadcaster.
“We have ended our partnership with StarTimes. They owe GFA $950,000,” Kurt said in an interview with GhOne TV.
“Our Premier League is interesting enough to attract TV partners, and we will announce a new partner soon.”
It is understood South Africa TV giants, SuperSport are set to be named the official broadcast holders of Ghana’s top-flight competition.
