Gariba Adams secures 100% endorsement as MCE for Assin Fosu Municipality – Ghana Business News
Mr Gariba Adams, President’s nominee, secured 100 per cent endorsement for the position of Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Assin Fosu Municipal Assembly of the Central Region.
All the 22 Assembly Members, made of15 elected members and seven government appointees, voted in favour of the nominee.
The election was attended by traditional leaders, high ranking members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the clergy and residents.
In his acceptance speech, Mr Adams expressed gratitude to the assembly members for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to address some challenges confronting the Municipality.
Key among the challenges, he mentioned were sanitation, youth unemployment and infrastructure.
Mr Ekow Panyin Okyere Eduamoah, Central Regional Minister, tasked the MCE to work with the assembly members and the chiefs in the municipality to speed up development to reflect in the lives of the people.
He pledged his support for the MCE and wished him well in all his endeavours.
The first nominee, Mrs Charlotte Boakye, failed in her bid for the position of MCE, securing only five out of the 22 votes cast.
