A young man by the name of Nii Ponponsuo has reportedly been arrested by the Police Intelligence Directorate on Monday, November 22, 2021, after he was sighted brandishing a gun and loading a pump-action gun with cartridges while issuing deadly threats on social media.
After analyzing the video, the police launched a special operation that resulted in the suspect’s detention from his hiding place. One 12 bore SB pump-action gun was discovered during the search.
He is currently assisting the police investigation and will appear in court tomorrow, November 24, 2021.
This comes weeks after the Ghanaian rapper, Samuel Adu Frimpong, well known as Medikal was apprehended, remanded for five days, and granted a GHc100,000 for engaging in a similar crime.
The Police Administration would like to remind the general public, particularly those with a tendency for displaying weapons and uttering threats, to refrain from such illegal behavior. The Police vowed to deal drastically with anyone found engaging in a similar act.

Police Arrest Suspect for Brandishing Weapon with Threats on Social MediaThe Police Intelligence Directorate, yesterday, Monday, November 22, 2021, arrested suspect, Nii Ponponsuo, after seeing a viral video in which the suspect was captured loading a pump-action gun with cartridges and making threatening utterances.The Police after reviewing the video conducted a special exercise that led to the suspect’s arrest from his hideout. A search conducted led to the retrieval of one 12 bore SB pump-action gun. Currently, he is assisting the Police investigation and will be put before court tomorrow, Wednesday, November 24, 2021. The Police Administration would like to continue to caution the general public, especially, individuals who have a penchant for the display of weapons and issuing threats to desist from such unlawful acts. Anyone arrested will be dealt with according to law.
