Empress Gifty Sues Agradaa for Defamation, Demands GH₵20 Million in Damages – GhArticles.com
Gospel musician Empress Gifty has filed a defamation lawsuit against Evangelist Patricia Asiedu, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, demanding GH₵20 million in damages.
According to a writ of summons, the suit stems from a live broadcast made by Agradaa on May 13, 2025, across her Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube platforms. During the broadcast, Agradaa allegedly made several vulgar and defamatory statements in Twi, accusing Empress Gifty of promiscuity, zoophilia, and engaging in sexual relations with pastors.
The Plaintiff asserts that the statements made in the context of Agradaa’s dispute with Gifty’s husband, Hopeson Adorye were false, malicious, and damaging to her reputation. Empress Gifty’s legal team notes that these comments have gone viral, been picked up by bloggers, and have caused widespread ridicule both locally and internationally.
The gospel singer claims the defamatory remarks have had a profound impact on her personal life, family, and professional brand. Her children have reportedly faced ridicule in school, and an upcoming international performance scheduled for August 2025 has also been jeopardized.
In addition to the GH₵20 million in damages, Empress Gifty is seeking:
A perpetual injunction restraining Agradaa from repeating such statements,
A court order for the removal of all related videos and audios from Agradaa’s platforms,
And a public retraction.
