Delay: The youth shouldn’t give up; I’ve been homeless and hungry before

Popular Ghanaian media personality and entrepreneur Deloris Frimpong Manso, affectionately known as Delay, has shared a powerful message of perseverance.

In a recent Facebook post, she encouraged young people to remain optimistic and resilient in the face of adversity. 

Delay drew from her own experiences, recalling a time when she struggled to afford basic necessities, including proper meals.

Reflecting on her journey, Delay expressed gratitude for the progress she has made since launching her food brand, Delay Foods, over two decades ago.

 “It feels like just yesterday when I couldn’t afford a decent meal. Today, the small food business I started, Delay Foods, now has 10 product variants! And we’re just getting started! I’m talking about just 2004,” she wrote.

Delay shared a poignant aspect of her past, revealing that she had once been homeless and uncertain about her future as a young woman, lacking a clear direction in life.

“I had nowhere to live and didn’t know what to do with my life. I’m sitting here right now, wondering what I did right for God to be this merciful to me,” she reflected.

Her message ended with a powerful note of encouragement to her followers: “Do not give up on yourself. Help is coming!”

Delay had earlier mentioned in an interview that Deloris Frimpong Manso unlike many female celebs who freely enjoyed massive support at their early stages, she didn’t have such privilege. (Read Delay: I fought for my fame)

According to her, she fought for the fame she’s currently enjoying and confidently sang her praises that nobody could take the prestige from her.
