Chief Justice Torkornoo Files Injunction At Supreme Court To Halt Committee Probing Her Removal – GhArticles.com
Suspended Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo has filed a petition at the Supreme Court seeking to bar Justices Gabriel Scott Pwamang and Samuel Kwame Adibu-Asiedu from participating in proceedings related to her possible removal from office.
The petition, filed by her lawyer and former Attorney-General Godfred Yeboah Dame, alleges that the two justices held private meetings with a lawyer involved in the case currently before a committee of inquiry.
The writ, which also names former Auditor-General Daniel Yao Domelevo, Major Flora Bazwaanura Dalugo, and Professor James Sefah Dzisah as respondents, calls for the committee (comprising defendants two to six) to be restrained from continuing with the removal process.
Justice Torkornoo was suspended by President John Mahama under Article 146 of the Constitution following petitions filed against her.
