Photos from JoyNews and German Embassy Climate Talks – Nsemkeka
JoyNews, in collaboration with the German Embassy, held a Climate Talks on Thursday, May 15, in James Town.
The event brought together stakeholders, innovators, and community members to explore clean energy alternatives and address the urgent need for sustainable cooking solutions in Ghana.
With over 70 per cent of households in urban and peri-urban areas still depending on charcoal and firewood, the health and environmental toll continues to rise.
Household air pollution is responsible for an estimated 16,000 premature deaths annually, 8,500 in urban areas and 7,600 in rural communities.
The dialogue served as a platform to promote practical, cleaner technologies that could reduce these numbers and drive a nationwide shift toward healthier, eco-friendly living.
