Samuel Boadu charged for misconduct in FA Cup semi-final clash with Kotoko – Nsemkeka

Berekum Chelsea head coach, Samuel Boadu, has been officially charged by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for misconduct following his side’s FA Cup semi-final loss to Asante Kotoko, which took place at the Tarkwa TNA Stadium.

The GFA, in a statement released on Monday, May 13, 2025 revealed that the former Hearts of Oak manager had violated Article 12(1)(i) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019, and Article 34(6)(d) of the GFA Premier League Regulations, 2019.

The charges are in relation to his alleged behaviour toward match officials after the final whistle.

“It is alleged that after the match, Coach Boadu approached the referees in an aggressive, angry, and fierce manner,” the statement said.

“Using inappropriate gestures which constitute misconduct that brings the game into disrepute,” FA Prosecutor added.

The incident reportedly occurred in the immediate aftermath of the game, as tensions flared over concerns about some of the refereeing decisions.

“His conduct is considered contrary to the principles of sportsmanship, respect for match officials, and the integrity of the game,” the GFA emphasised.

“Such behaviour undermines the efforts to promote discipline and decorum in Ghana football.”

Boadu has been given until Thursday, May 15, 2025, to respond to the charges.

If found guilty, Boadu could face penalties ranging from a fine to a touchline ban or even a suspension from all football-related activities.
