Erastus received the prestigious award in the category of “Sustainable Environment and Development”, recognising his fearless and persistent reporting on the devastating impact of illegal mining on Ghana’s environment, water bodies, and local communities. The award ceremony, hosted by the Asantehene at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, brought together leaders from government, civil society, arts, and the media to celebrate individuals and institutions making a lasting impact on national development. “This recognition is a call to continue telling the difficult stories that matter to our future as a nation,” Erastus told the media.
