‘Vincent Atinga deserves Black Stars call-up’ – GoldStars CEO Akwasi Adu – Nsemkeka

Bibiani GoldStars CEO Akwasi Adu has thrown his full support behind defender Vincent Atinga, insisting the experienced centre-back deserves a place in the senior national team, the Black Stars.

Atinga, who joined Bibiani Gold Stars ahead of the just-ended 2024/2025 season, played a key role in the club’s historic Ghana Premier League title win, their first ever. He made 18 appearances under head coach Frimpong Manso, providing leadership and consistency at the back.

Despite having featured seven times for the Black Galaxies team and scoring twice, Atinga has yet to earn a call-up to the senior national side. But Adu believes it’s time for that to change.

“In my opinion, Vincent Atinga should be part of the Black Stars,” Adu told Sporty FM. “Not many players in the national team play as well as he does.”

“Since Vincent joined GoldStars, he’s never missed a training session. He’s always punctual. Every team needs someone with that level of discipline and commitment. He was a massive influence on the young players, and I’m delighted he’s capped it off by winning the league.”

Atinga’s title with GoldStars marks his second Ghana Premier League triumph in three years, having previously led Medeama SC to their maiden title, further strengthening his case for national team inclusion.
