Police Arrest Two Suspects With 11 Large Sacks Of Suspected Narcotics At Ayi Mensah – GhArticles.com
The Ghana Police Service has arrested two individuals in connection with the possession of eleven large sacks of a substance suspected to be narcotics at Ayi Mensah in the Greater Accra Region.
The suspects, identified as Mathew Narkotey and Augustine Teye, were apprehended on June 7, 2025, by a team from the National Operations Department (NOD) during a routine patrol.
According to police sources, the two were traveling in a Mazda pick-up truck with registration number GT 3490-P when a search of the vehicle revealed the suspected narcotic substances concealed within.
The vehicle and the suspected drugs have since been impounded and secured at the Joint Operations Centre to aid further investigations.
Both Narkotey and Teye are currently in police custody assisting with investigations. Authorities have also launched a manhunt for an individual identified only as Martey, whom the suspects named as the intended recipient of the consignment.
