Ghana Football Awards 2025: Police Ladies, Oaks Ladies and 2 others vie for Female Team of the Year – Nsemkeka
Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League champions, Police Ladies, are among the nominees for the Female Team of the Year at the 2025 Ghana Football Awards.
They face competition from the newly promoted Oaks Ladies Football Club as well as the national U-15 (Black Damsels) and U-17 (Black Maidens) teams.
Police Ladies won the Women’s Premier League title for the first time in their history after beating Ampem Darkoa Ladies in the final last month at the University of Ghana Stadium.
The win followed their success of finishing top in the Southern Zone.
Having won the maiden edition of the Zonal FA Cup title, Oaks Ladies also sealed a spot in the Regional Championship, where they finished second to book their place in the top flight for next season.
The Black Maidens brought national glory during the U-17 WAFU B Girls’ Cup, which was staged in Prampram, Ghana.
The Black Damsels also achieved a historical feat as they successfully hosted and won gold during the third edition of the African Schools Football Championship.
The U-15 Girls’ finished the tournament unbeaten, defeating defending champions, South Africa, en route to glory.
The 2025 Ghana Football Awards is scheduled for June 14, with the event expected to be live on Joy Prime TV.
