This morning, Celebrities Buzz reported on Volta Region recording its first 9 cases of coronavirus.
Ketu South Municipality, a portion of the Volta Region that is closer to Togo bagged the highest number recording 6 in the process.
The Volta Regional Coordinating Council said in a statement that all the 6 persons were travelers who entered the country illegally.
He said:
The six were travelers from Nigeria “who had entered Ghana through unapproved routes along the Ghana-Togo border near Aflao. They were apprehended and have been under mandatory quarantine for the past fourteen days.”
A statement from the Ketu South Municipal Assembly further indicated that; “efforts are being made through the Ministry of National Security for their repatriation to their home country.”
They urged all to be calm as they battle with the disease to wipe it out from the Region in no time.
“The number of recorded cases should not alarm you but rather give you hope that pragmatic measures put in place to quarantine these individuals have yielded positive results.”
“Those who had contact with them are therefore advised to quickly try to self-isolate while we continue to contact trace to identify all those who might have come into contact with them,” the assembly added.
Aflao Boarder has got a lot of illegal entries that needs to be checked.
